An Edmonds man was arrested Friday for the murder of his wife, according to the Edmonds Police Department.

At about 5 p.m. on July 29, a 73-year-old man called 911 and said he had attempted to murder his wife in the 23400 block of 94th Avenue West.

When officers arrived, they found a “chaotic” scene with a 66-year-old woman dead, but “it was unclear what had caused her death,” according to police.

The man was detained and transported to a hospital for an evaluation.

Once the man was medically cleared, detectives spoke with the man who admitted to the incident, including details of how the victim died.

Edmonds police did not provide further details about the incident.

The man was booked into jail on charges of murder and domestic violence.
