Do you bleed crimson or purple? Donate to the Apple Cup blood drive

SEATTLE — Whether you bleed purple or crimson, you can make a difference for a local patient at the Apple Cup Pep Rally Blood Drive.

Bloodworks Northwest is hosting a mobile blood drive today, Sept. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Westlake Park in Seattle.

The mobile unit will be parked at 401 Pine Street.

If you donate, you can get an “I Bleed Purple” or “I Bleed Crimson” T-shirt.

“The Apple Cup rivalry brings out incredible passion across Washington,” said Curt Bailey, President and CEO of Bloodworks Northwest. “This blood drive gives Huskies and Cougar fans the opportunity to channel that passion into a simple and generous act that benefits the entire community. It only takes an hour to show your team pride and score a shirt that proves it!”

You can sign up for an appointment here.

Washington State University’s mascot, Butch, will be there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sunday is the annual cross-state rivalry football game between WSU and UW.

Kickoff is at 1:05 p.m. at Husky Stadium.
