LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — Detectives with the Lake Stevens Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and/or locating the individual(s) who they say may have transported a driver to Providence Regional Medical Center after a fatal three car collision on Monday.
The collision occurred just before 2 p.m. at 84th Street Northeast and 105th Avenue Northeast.
"A (Chevrolet) Van rear-ended a Toyota Yaris forcing the Toyota into the oncoming lane of traffic where it was hit head-on by a third vehicle, an Acura SUV," detectives said in a news release.
A 48-year-old female, who was driving the Toyota, and a 72-year-old Lake Stevens woman, a passenger in the car, were both transported to the hospital. The 72-yar-old woman later died at the hospital.
“The driver of the Acura, a 28 year-old Arlington man, left the scene. He was later located at a nearby hospital seeking treatment for his injuries. After being released from the hospital, he was arrested for two unrelated warrants and booked into Snohomish County jail,” detectives said.
On Thursday, detectives said they wanted to speak to the person or persons who dropped off the 28-year-old at the hospital.
"The 28 year-old was escorted into the hospital by a passenger in the Chrysler described as a white male, 30-50 years old, with facial hair and wearing a baseball cap. The individuals in the Chrysler 300 are not suspects in any crime and detectives would like to speak with them to complete their investigation," detectives said.
Anyone with information on the individual(s) involved are asked to contact Detective Monson at marc.monson@snoco.org.
