A man wanted for domestic violence in Port Angeles was arrested and taken into custody.
According to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, on Aug. 10, deputies were called to a reported domestic violence incident at a home on South Bay View Avenue.
The person who called 911 said that they were assaulted by the suspect and that he damaged a Ring security camera with an axe, broke a cell phone before running into the woods with a knife.
The sheriff’s office put out a “be on the lookout” for the 30-year-old.
Several hours later, he was found in the yard of a private home.
According to the sheriff’s office, the man ran at a deputy at full speed and crashed into him, causing them both to fall onto the ground.
The suspect got to his feet and ran off as deputies chased him, the sheriff’s office said. During the chase, the suspect was tased and taken into custody.
A fixed-blade knife was found on him when he was arrested, the sheriff’s office said.
The suspect was arrested for:
• Third-degree assault (against a law enforcement officer)
• Resisting arrest
• Residential burglary – domestic violence
• Assault in violation of a no-contact order – domestic violence
• Third-degree malicious mischief domestic violence
