Near HOBART, Wash. — All lanes of State Route 18 were closed between Interstate 90 and Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast for more than 3 hours on Wednesday.

There were crashes and a semitruck fire near Hobart shortly after 6 a.m.

All westbound lanes were closed near the Tiger Mountain Summit.

All eastbound lanes were closed just east of Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast.

A pickup on westbound SR 18 crossed into the eastbound lanes and hit a semitruck, causing it to roll over, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson. The semitruck then caught fire and became engulfed in flames.

The driver of the pickup, who is suspected of DUI, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

On westbound SR 18 west of the summit, two semitrucks crashed.

Shortly before 9 a.m., WSDOT tweeted that sand and sweeper trucks were cleaning up oil slick on the highway and that tow trucks were on the way to remove some of the vehicles.

Both directions of SR 18 were back open by around 9:30 a.m.
