RENTON, Wash. — All lanes of southbound SR 167 have reopened in Renton near Southwest 43rd Street after a crash shut down the highway for six hours.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the crash happened sometime after 2 a.m. Thursday. The road didn’t fully reopen until about 8 a.m.
The closure snarled traffic for much of the morning commute.
Washington State Patrol told KIRO 7 News that only one car was involved in the crash. The passenger has serious injuries and driver was arrested for vehicular assault.
Troopers believe the driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
