After a foggy beginning to the middle of the week, the afternoon will become partly to mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s.
The jet stream is in a strong, westerly flow with weather disturbances traveling into British Columbia. Thursday will remain cloudier while a trough brushes the border and north coast with drizzle and light rain that increases Thursday evening.
Thursday, after 5 p.m., areas of light rain or drizzle will sweep across most counties and move into the Cascades overnight. Lingering moisture will sprinkle mist and drizzle into Friday morning.
High temperatures will warm into the mid-60s for Thursday and Friday.
Friday afternoon, a ridge of high pressure over the Pacific Ocean will nudge the clouds away while tracking overhead. This ridge will create a warmer and sunnier weekend with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s under sunny skies.
Each morning may have areas of low clouds and fog, which will lift and break by the noon hour.
