Troopers are investigating a crash in Gorst that killed a young child on Monday evening.
The fatal crash happened after 6:30 p.m. on State Route 16. Westbound lanes of the highway were blocked, west of Tremont.
Troopers said a vehicle was traveling too fast for the wet and rainy roads, lost control and struck a guardrail.
A 7-year-old child, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected.
Troopers are continuing their investigation.
