Changes on the way

This morning we'll see pockets of low clouds early and high clouds increasing over the area.

The low clouds will clear and we'll see some sunshine, but again the high clouds will keep increasing.

We'll warm quite a bit into the afternoon into the mid-70s but by the end of the day we'll have high overcast skies. In fact, by tonight closer to 5-8 p.m. we'll see some showers move back in.  It'll be gusty to breezy as the showers increase this afternoon and this evening.  Highs will be in the low to mid-70s.

Expect showers and possibly thunderstorms to develop in the Cascades late in the day with some areas of rain by evening.  Rainfall will become a bit heavier in waves Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with tapering showers through the day Wednesday.  Highs will be in the 60s.

Rain will push again through the region on Thursday and that will be the coolest day -- in the upper 50s and lower 60s in Seattle.

Rainfall Tuesday night through Thursday will probably range from a quarter to possibly half an inch area wide.

High pressure aloft rebuilds Friday setting us up for a warm weekend.  Saturday will be a sunny day with highs in the 70s and with an offshore flow and plenty of sunshine, temperatures in Seattle south on Sunday could be in the 80s.  The record high for Sunday is 84 degrees.
