Former junkyard building burns in Lynnwood fire

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — An overnight fire destroyed a building at what used to be a junkyard in Lynnwood overnight.

Firefighters were called out to Highway 99 and 180th Street Southwest around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

The abandoned building was fully involved in flames when fire crews arrived.

The fire went to a second alarm and more firefighters responded.

Southbound Highway 99 was closed at the 18200 block while crews battled the fire.

By about 3:30 a.m., the fire was under control.

No injuries were reported.

The cause is under investigation.
