Bremerton elementary school cancels class because of HVAC fire

BREMERTON, Wash. — Green Mountain Elementary School in Bremerton canceled class on Tuesday because of a fire.

According to Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue, an HVAC unit caught on fire around 7 a.m., sending smoke throughout the building.

The sprinkler system activated and kept the fire from spreading to other rooms.

Firefighters made sure the fire was out and cleared the smoke from the building.
