BREMERTON, Waash. — An 18-year-old Bremerton woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she crashed into a power pole.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 14, Bremerton police and the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a woman who said she fell asleep at the wheel before crashing.

Deputies said the woman denied drinking.

She performed field sobriety tests at the scene and, on a breathalyzer, blew a blood alcohol concentration of 0.12, deputies said.

According to the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board, the legal limit for individuals under the age of 21 is .02, unlike the common .08 for those above 21.

The woman was booked into Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of DUI.
