WASHINGTON — If you bought generic prescription drugs between 2009 and 2019, you could be getting some money back under settlements between the state of Washington and three pharmaceutical companies, announced Wednesday.
Washington was part of a bipartisan coalition of 45 states and territories that has settled with Ascend Laboratories, Citron Pharma and Mayne Pharma, which allegedly conspired to “artificially inflate and manipulate prices and reduce competition,” according to a news release from the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.
“Ascend will pay $400,000 to the states. Mayne will pay $650,000. Citron’s settlement only includes non-monetary terms as it has ceased business operations,” the release stated. “As part of the settlement, the companies each agreed to change their practices to ensure fair competition and compliance with antitrust laws.”
If you purchased a generic prescription drug between May 2009 and December 2019, you may be eligible for compensation, according to the release.
