Starting today, you can “bid for the whales” as the 2026 Orca Network Auction begins!
The auction includes experiences, art, and merchandise to help support Orca Network programs, which are dedicated to raising awareness about the whales of the Pacific Northwest and protecting the Salish Sea.
One of the art pieces up for auction is an original, signed painting by artist Henry of our famed local raccoon, Jimothy, riding an Orca whale. Just hours after the auction went live, the painting already had a bid of over $1K.
Henry told KIRO 7 in September that his Jimothy artwork had raised over $1M for local charities and organizations so far this year.
Other auction items include whale-themed books, apparel, jewelry, and collectibles, gift cards to local restaurants, and experiences such as whale watching and island getaways.
The Orca Network program hopes to raise $20K to support its programs, which include the Central Puget Sound Marine Mammal Stranding Network, Langley Whale Center, Toki’s Legacy, Whale Sighting Network, and its Education and Advocacy program.
Items will be either virtually deliverable, available for pickup/shipping, or can be coordinated with the donor.
