BELLEVUE, Wash. — Bellevue Police announced Friday that a 36-year-old man had been arrested after he told police he had attempted to set a Planned Parenthood on fire in the 14700 block of NE 8th St shortly before 1 am.
According to the department, firefighters responded to the scene and then called police after they encountered a suspect “loitering at the scene.”
In its statement, the department says the suspect, who is unhoused and currently resides in Seattle, said he had used a rock to vandalize the building and then tossed a burning piece of paper through a broken window.
BPD said the building sustained minor damage, and officers booked the suspect into King County Jail.
The department said it believes the suspect acted alone, without any connection to additional people or an organization.
