THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. — The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) has issued a ‘be on the lookout’ alert for a man who they say is armed and dangerous.

27-year-old Damien Madison is on the run after allegedly shooting an AR-15 at a Thurston County Sheriff’s Deputy during a pursuit, according to the sheriff’s office.

“[He] began throwing things at our deputy in the K9 unit. And then at one point in time began shooting at them with an AR-15, which disabled the vehicle,” said Sheriff Derek Sanders.

Sheriff Sanders says a pursuit for Madison began in Grays Harbor and ended in Thurston County on Waldrick Road SE. Deputies say he was dropped off and ran into the woods. The driver of the car was arrested.

SWAT Team, Guardian One, and neighboring police agencies helped deputies in the search.

“He has a history of stealing cars after fleeing from stolen cars. So there’s a decent chance he’s already stolen a car and left the area. He’s also a prolific burglar, so there’s a decent chance that he is in someone’s shed, barn, or house, which may be not occupied,” Sheriff Sanders added.

TSCO says Madison is wanted for multiple felony crimes.

“Last time I talked about him, I actually specifically stated that if the judges don’t start taking this seriously, that someone’s going to get hurt or killed, and here we are. Shooting at the police. So maybe they’ll take it more seriously this time, but I’m not confident,” Sheriff Sanders said.

Madison was last seen near Chehalis Western Trail near Waldrick Road and Stedman Road, close to Offutt Lake, wearing a black hat with a red bill, a black t-shirt, and sunglasses.

He is 5′10," 170 pounds with brown eyes and dark hair.

If you see him, police say do not approach, and call 911. He is considered armed and dangerous.
