A Shoreline resident said he shot and killed one of two intruders who broke into his home Saturday morning, authorities said.
King County Sheriff’s officers went to the home in the 14500 block of Whitman Avenue North around 7 a.m. after receiving a report of a robbery at gunpoint.
When police arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound inside the home. The resident identified the man as one of the intruders.
The resident told police he woke up when the two men kicked in the front door and entered the house.
The man told police one of the men was armed with a gun. The resident said he then shot one of them while the other fled on foot.
Emergency personal were unable to revive the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
King County Sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate the incident.
