All schools in Shoreline started late, and some were closed entirely on Friday after an equipment outage knocked out power to over 6,000 Seattle City Light customers.
The school day was canceled Friday at the following schools: Shorecrest, Kellogg, Briarcrest, and Ridgecrest.

According to Seattle City Light, the outage was caused by an equipment failure. As of around 10 a.m. Friday, crews had restored power to the majority of impacted customers and were working to restore the remaining 1,200 customers.
