VANCOUVER, Wash. — A vehicle crashed through the side of the Elite School of Beauty on Saturday afternoon, causing significant damage to the building and sending one person to the hospital.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says approximately 50 students were inside the business, located on NE 114th Avenue, when the collision occurred.
They say the driver involved in the crash was identified as an 87-year-old woman. She told officers on the scene, “she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake.”
Following an initial assessment of the crash, VPD said impairment is not believed to be a factor.
