In a statement shortly after 3 pm, Amazon announced 5 people died in an ‘incident’ when an Amazon plane attempted to land at Miami International Airport on Sunday.
According to airport flight data, the plane was coming from Cincinnati.
“We’re heartbroken to learn that five people lost their lives in today’s incident at Miami International Airport. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families, loved ones, and all those affected by this devastating loss,” Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel said in a statement Sunday.
Nantel said the situation was “fast-moving,” and Amazon was working with local authorities.
