ISSAQUAH, Wash. — A 22-year-old has been arrested for allegedly intentionally hitting and killing a motorcyclist during a road rage incident.
On July 31, just before 9 p.m., Issaquah police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle on Lake Drive.
Officers responded to the scene and tried to save the 20-year-old rider’s life, but he died from his injuries at the scene.
The driver, a 22-year-old Renton man, left the scene without stopping or trying to render aid, Issaquah PD said. The driver came back to the scene about an hour later and agreed to speak with investigators.
“During interviews with investigators, the suspect made statements acknowledging that he struck the victim’s motorcycle while acting out of anger,” Issaquah PD said.
Issaquah police said surveillance video shows the suspect hitting the motorcycle.
Investigators learned the suspect and victim were co-workers, and that there is “evidence indicating the suspect surveilled and followed the victim before intentionally driving into the motorcycle,” Issaquah PD said.
The 22-year-old suspect was booked into King County Jail for second-degree murder.
