2 teenagers arrested in connection with school shooting threats

MASON COUNTY, Wash. — Two teenagers in Mason County were arrested in connection to shooting threats at Hawkins Middle School, officials said.

Staff from the middle school notified the Mason County Sheriff’s Office around 1 p.m. Dec. 9 about two students talking about plans to bring guns to school and shoot people, according to a release.

After an investigation, the two students were placed under emergency expulsion and released to their guardians.

Deputies interviewed witnesses and established probable cause to arrest the students for felony harassment.

Both students were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Mason County Juvenile Detention Center.
