An investigation into two separate DUI crashes closed southbound Interstate 5 in Lakewood on Friday morning.
Washington State Patrol told KIRO 7 News that the crashes happened 100 feet from each other. Troopers don’t believe the crashes were related.

In the first crash, four vehicle were involved and one passenger died. A driver suspected of DUI suffered minor injuries.
The second crash had two cars, and the driver of victim car drove away from the scene.
Two drivers were booked for DUI.

Traffic officials opened the freeway around 6 a.m. after an hours-long investigation.
