19-year-old man dies after shooting in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A shooter is on the run after killing a man in Federal Way Sunday.

Federal Way police said a 19-year-old man was shot while sitting in a car in the 33400 block 23rd Avenue Southwest about 5:30 p.m.

He was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

KIRO 7 spoke to a witness who said his family took cover when they heard the gunshots.

“All of a sudden we hear six shots. We didn’t go out until the police came out because I just told my family to duck under, and we just turned off the lights and closed the door,” said Jason Delao.

Officers have not yet said what led up to the shooting and have not released a description of a suspect.
