12-year-old girl rescued from tree in Edmonds after climbing 20 feet

EDMONDS, Wash. — Crews with South County Fire were called to a school in Edmonds after a 12-year-old girl climbed about 20 feet up a tree and couldn’t get down on Monday afternoon.

A fire engine and a ladder truck responded at around 5 p.m., and crews extended the ladder up to the girl and safely brought her back down, South County Fire said in a social media post.

The girl was a little shaken but wasn’t injured, and crews gave her a ride home in the fire engine.
