According to Seattle City Light, 6,140 customers lost power Friday; by 6:38 p.m., the utility had restored power to 4,531 of them, leaving more than a thousand without power.
By 7:30 pm Friday, only 400 customers remained in the dark.
The department said multiple outages affected customers throughout the day, impacting small areas around South Seattle in clusters.
The cause of most outages is still under investigation, though some have been determined to be equipment failure.
