KENT, Wash. — A 37-year-old man from Kent died Saturday morning from injuries sustained when his car crashed into a fence off of northbound Military Road, just south of Kent Des Moines Road.
According to authorities that responded to the scene, the man was removed from his car by Kent police and firefighters but ultimately died from his injuries.
Police said the other passenger in the car, an adult man, was uninjured. According to the department, he told police the driver said the car’s brakes weren’t working as they traveled downhill toward Kent Des Moines Road and that he swerved toward the fence to avoid hitting other cars in the intersection.
Police do not believe alcohol was involved.
