MOUNT RAINIER, Wash. — The fourth and last injured climber was rescued off Mount Rainier Friday evening, according to the National Park Service.
Stacy Wren, 22, was one of four Texas-based climbers who summited Mt. Rainier Thursday and slipped into a crevasse.
During the rescue efforts, a climbing ranger, Nick Hall, was killed when he fell thousands of feet down the mountain.
When Wren got off the mountain, she was taken to Army Madigan Hospital immediately to be treated for her injuries.
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News spoke with Wren’s friend, Claire Kultgen, on her condition.
“She’s good, she’s OK, she’s walking,” Kultgen said. “The other three are in the hospital and they’re all stable. They do have injuries.”
KIRO 7 learned Wren, a senior at Baylor University, was walking on her own Friday evening.
As of Saturday morning, all four are in fair condition at Army Madigan Hospital.
