Kent police investigating hoax that mentions threats against 2 high schools

KENT, Wash. — The Kent Police Department and the Kent School District are investigating a social media hoax that mentions threats against two high schools.

The threats are against Kent-Meridian and Kentridge high schools.

According to school district officials, one student created a social media presence and threat to get another student in trouble.

Police are interviewing those involved.

A robo-call was sent out to families and staff in the district. Another phone call can be expected early Tuesday morning with an update.

Officials say there is no indication of an actual threat to any Kent School District campus and all schools are scheduled to open and operate Tuesday at their regular times.

This is an ongoing investigation.
