A  hydroplane out testing on the water of Lake Washington before Seafair weekend flipped on Friday afternoon.

KIRO 7 cameras were rolling as the "Grand Prix West" number 3, known as the "hard charger" flipped over. The driver, Chris Grant was able to make his way out of the boat after a few seconds.

Rescuers and medics helped him.

The boat flipped because it can't make a right turn at that fast of speed.

These type of boats are designed to turn left.

The driver was able to get up and walk out of the aid tent.
