SEATTLE — The historic Panama Hotel in Seattle’s International District is up for sale.

The hotel was built in 1910.

During World War II, when Japanese Americans were forced into internment camps, the hotel allowed free storage of their belongings in the basement.

Some returned for the belongings when the war ended; many didn’t.

Soon, the hotel will be up for sale.

The owner hopes whoever buys the hotel will work to keep its significant history intact.
