LACEY, Wash. — An estranged couple was found dead Saturday in a home north of Lacey, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News partner, The Tacoma News Tribune, reported the husband and wife got into an argument and it ended in gunfire at a home off Kerbaugh Road Northeast.
Police believe the husband shot his wife, identified as Laura Lindblad, and then himself.
According to detectives, Lindblad brought the couple's two children to visit their father for the weekend. When the parents started arguing, the children went to their grandparents' house on the same property. When they heard gunshots they ran back to the father's house. Their 9-year-old daughter was first to find her parents were dead. Her 6-year-old brother was close behind, police said.
Lindblad's parents said they were estranged from their daugther for a few years, and had recently been back in touch. Now they're trying to figure out how the man they had been so happy to have their daughter marry could be capable of murder.
Lindblad was an operating room nurse.
