MUKILTEO, Wash. — A Snohomish County councilman was arrested and released Thursday evening after he was arrested on drunken driving charges.
Mukilteo police received a report from a caller who said a driver in the 10700 block of State Route 525 was “all over the road.”
The caller said the car had turned west bound on Chennault Beach Road and had stopped in front of a business.
An officer found the car and in front of the business and spoke to the driver, identified as Brian J. Sullivan, police said.
The officer said he smelled alcohol on Sullivan’s breath, and when asked if he had been drinking, Sullivan told officers he had, a police news release said.
After performing some field sobriety tests, Sullivan was arrested by officers.
Sullivan was transported to the Mukilteo Police Department were he provided two breath samples on a blood alcohol content machine. The breath samples were 0.168 percent and 0.161 percent, police said.
Sullivan was issued a citation for DUI and released.
Sullivan was elected to the Snohomish County Council in November 2007, and took office in January 2008.
