SEATTLE — CSI investigators in King County took an extraordinary step on Wednesday as they try to solve the murder of a Kent woman found dead inside the charred remains of her car.
They invited news crews to a Burien tow shop so viewers can see the burned-out vehicle.
The remains of 39-year-old Denise Grigsby were found in the car in Black Diamond Sunday morning.
Her family told detectives they last heard from her Friday.
"We want to get help on this particular case, and I think it's important to the community and the public out there -- just how egregious this crime was,' said Sgt. Katie Larson of the King County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives said they have no suspects.
Grigsby's background shows she had some drug convictions, mostly involving marijuana.
But detectives said they don't believe drugs had anything to do with her murder.
The medical examiner said Grigsby died of a skull fracture and cerebral contusions before her body was stuffed inside the trunk of the car on Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road and Southeast 328th Street.
