A Clallam County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a wrong-way DUI driver with her patrol car on Sunday morning.
According to the sheriff’s office, an officer with Sequim police tried to stop an erratic vehicle driving northbound on Sequim Avenue around 10 a.m. The driver, a 39-year-old woman from Port Angeles, didn’t pull over and “began driving at a high rate of speed through the city of Sequim,” according to the sheriff’s office.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office assisted Sequim when the driver began speeding into oncoming traffic.
A deputy used her patrol vehicle to cut off the driver, disabling the vehicle in the process.
The driver allegedly tried to run off, but was quickly arrested, according to the sheriff’s office.
The 39-year-old was booked into Clallam County Jail for DUI and second-degree assault.
