SEATTLE — The Blue Angels have arrived in Seattle!  They came to town ahead of next weekend's Boeing Seafair Airshow.

The Blues will be a welcome addition after last year's no-show by the Navy team.

Last year's attendance for Seafair Sunday was down 27 percent. Many think that was because the Blue Angels didn't fly.

But they're back this year. Jet number 4 flew in Sunday.

They canceled their performance because of government budget cuts.

Four of the unmistakable blue fighter jets have joined it.  A fifth jet that had mechanical problems will arrive Tuesday. The F/A-18s were planning to fly over the waterfront and by the Space Needle before landing at Boeing Field but ran short on time.

The planes will run some routes all week long.

KIRO 7 is your Seafair station and will broadcast the Albert Lee Cup and Boeing Air show Aug. 3 live on KIRO TV, kirotv.com and the free KIRO 7 iPad app, available at this link.
