Bellingham police release sketch of flasher

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham Police Department is investigating a series of incidents of indecent exposure and voyeurism that are occurring near the Western Washington University campus.

Police released a sketch of a man on Friday.

Police said there have been seven incidents since late October, but officers don't know if the same person is responsible for all off them.

The latest incidents that appear to be related to the series of flashings that happened on Jan. 6. The first occurred in the 700 block of High Street at about 8:20 p.m., where a college-aged woman was sitting in her car when a male approached the passenger side of the vehicle and exposed his genitals.

The second incident was in the 1000 block of Billy Frank Jr. Street in which a woman was walking through the area when a sound drew her attention to a man standing near some bushes.

The man was looking directly at the woman as he was touching himself.

In the second incident, the victim described the man as being in his 20s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a thin to medium build, clean shaven and possibly with brown hair.  He was wearing a plain black T-shirt.

The man walked away from the area and a track by a police K-9 did not find him.

Anyone that believes that they have information that will help identify the suspect is asked to call Detective Howell at 360-778-8682.
