The office of Washington state Rep. Andrew Barkis, R-Olympia, was the site of attempted arson on Monday morning, according to the Twitter account of Republican state Rep. J.T. Wilcox.

Wilcox shares the office with his seatmate.

As seen on a Ring doorbell video, at around 4 a.m. on June 13, two people approached a window on the office’s front porch.

According to Wilcox, the flare landed on the masonry floor, and the building ultimately survived.

The first person struck the window, breaking the glass. The second person then lit a flare and dropped it inside.

Wilcox said there is no information on who committed the act or their motivation, but he is “very concerned.”
