(10/6) Drier weather ahead, but cool

Through the evening we’ll have a few downpours and with an unstable environment, the chance for thunderstorms remains though no lightning has occurred so far. Many locations won’t get rainfall but those that do could pick up a quick quarter-inch of rain. In the mountains, we have snow levels down to 4,000 feet but whether there will be any significant moisture for snowfall is going to be a hit-or-miss proposition.

Overnight, we’ll have some patchy fog developing, particularly in the South Sound and areas south of there. Morning temperatures will be cool – in the 40s.

Expect some clouds, some sun and mainly dry weather Thursday through much of Saturday though it stays cool in the 50s in the lowlands. By Saturday night and Sunday, rain will move back into the area and could be heavy at times. While snow levels in the mountains will be well above the passes through Sunday morning but by late Sunday into Monday, it looks like snow levels will fall to around 3,000 feet – meaning we could get the first pass snow of note to end the weekend and start next week.
