Prices at the gas pump are coming down in time for the Thanksgiving holiday next week.

Holiday road trips will be slightly less painful in Washington and across the country.

The current national average is $2.65 a gallon for regular unleaded. Washington’s average is $3.43, with prices differing depending on where you buy gas.

While the prices are still steep, they're down from a month ago, with Bellingham taking the biggest dip.

KIRO 7 checked average prices from AAA city by city Friday morning:

  • Seattle/Bellevue/Everett: $3.55
  • Bellingham $3.42
  • Olympia $3.45
  • Tacoma $3.44
