Vandals shoot out car windows West Seattle

Neighbors in West Seattle are frustrated after several car windows were busted out by a BB gun.

"I didn't hear anything, didn't know anything," said Marty Charbonneau. "But I got an email from the neighborhood that this happened on our street. Didn't even occur to me that I'm a part of it."

Marty Charbonneau has lived on Sunset Avenue since 1964.

She wasn't expecting to find glass littering the ground by her daughter's pickup truck and rushed to cover the busted window.

According to the neighborhood email, the vandals shot out the windows of least five cars with a BB gun early Wednesday morning.

Property was stolen from some of the cars.

But not from Charbonneau's daughter's truck.

"There was a big box of wine, too big to take through the window, but it doesn't look like it was attempted. They didn't appreciate  good wine, that's for sure," she joked.

But what's not a laughing matter -- this isn't the first time she's been targeted.

Someone broke into the pickup two years ago.

And just last year, her car was stolen from the driveway.

"There's nothing I can do," Charbonneau explained. "Being fed up doesn't do any good. I'm trying to understand the phenomena of the social changes."

It's also deja vu for another neighbor down the street.

He said someone broke into his car just six months ago, too.

This time around, it didn't look like anything had been touched.

Fortunately no one was hurt.
