Former Tennessee coach accused of injecting student with steroid

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — A former Tennessee coach is accused of injecting a student with an anabolic steroid, authorities said.

Roger Williams, 52, of Clarksville, was charged with anabolic steroids-prohibitive acts, WZTV reported. His bail was set at $5,000, according to online jail records.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, investigators followed an anonymous tip that Williams, a contract coach with the Clarksville Montgomery School System, might have been providing and injecting a student with a steroid as part of strength and conditioning training, WKRN reported.

Williams was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on Monday, WKRN reported.

The sheriff’s office presented its finding to a grand jury, which issued a sealed indictment for Williams' arrest, according to WZTV.
