5-year-old girl shot, seriously hurt in Los Angeles home, police say

LOS ANGELES — A California girl was seriously hurt in a shooting at a Los Angeles home Wednesday evening, authorities said.

According to KCBS-TV, the incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. at a house on Woodlawn Avenue. First responders arrived to find a 5-year-old girl who had been struck by a bullet, the station reported.

Crews transported the girl to a nearby hospital, where she was listed in “very serious condition,” Los Angeles police Lt. Raul Jovel told KCBS.

No further details were immediately available.

Police have not said how the shooting occurred or whether it was intentional. KTTV reported that multiple siblings, including two adults, were there when the shooting took place.
