Twin brothers stole $26K worth of beer, cigarettes during 70 convenience store thefts, police say

PHOENIX — Twin brothers stole more than $26,000 worth of beer, cigarettes and cash during a spate of more than 70 convenience store robberies, investigators said.

Brothers Jorge and Alberto Luna committed about two thefts a week from Circle K stores in Glendale and West Phoenix from August 2018 to about April 2019, KNXV reported.

They were arrested and charged with theft, KNXV reported.

Investigators said they would then sell the beer for $10 to $15 a case to pay for their drug habits, KNXV reported.
