Human remains found in Florida woods identified as teen reported missing one year ago

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Sheriff's deputies in Jacksonville, Florida, said skeletal remains found hidden in a wooded area belong to a teen missing since last year.

According to WJAX-TV, 18-year-old Corbin Johnson was reported missing just over one year ago.

The TV station reported on July 11 that a skull and other human bones had been found off Utsey Drive in northwest Jacksonville.

Johnson was last seen July 11, 2018, by his mom at home, roughly 12 miles from where his remains were found.

His bones were found exactly one year later.

His death is being investigated as a murder, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
