One person burned in Pacific explosion

SUMNER, Wash. — East Pierce fire says one person was burned in an explosion in Pacific.

The source and cause of the explosion is not yet known.

Firefighters say the explosion happened at a recycling plant in the 1300 block of Thorton Avenue Southwest.

The burn patient went into cardiac arrest and a Chaplin was called to the scene.

Valley Regional fire was called to the plant at 11:22 a.m. Monday.

The condition of the victim is not known.
