ARCADIA POINT, Wash. — A small boat exploded around 50 feet from a dock at Arcadia Point in Mason County on Saturday morning.
At around 11:30 a.m., the Mason County Sheriff’s department reported units, aid, and fire responders were en route to the scene.
The public was asked to avoid the area until first responders can deal with the incident.
The young victim was transported by air-lift for treatment of his injuries.
As of 11:35 a.m., only one victim had been reported. The victim was a 20-year-old man with secondary burns to his hands and face.
The cause of the explosion was unknown as of Saturday late afternoon.
