PARKLAND, Wash. — The shooting happened near a McDonald's, a Chevrolet dealership and a Pacific Pride gas station on Pacific Avenue.
A Pierce County Sheriff's Department official told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Richard Thompson that two groups of young people were arguing outside McDonald's when one group started shooting at the other.
“There was blood all over and confusion from people who didn’t know what was going on, including me,” said Paul McPherson.
At least seven shots were fired from a handgun and a rifle before the shooters ran off, authorities said.
Eyewitnesses told KIRO 7 that a young man was hit in the hand and ran inside the McDonald’s.
Police said several bullets hit the Chevrolet dealership and one bullet went through the dealership's window, spraying glass on a woman sitting at her desk.
The woman said that the bullet nicked a printer, missing her. It then hit and fell in the dealership's play area.
No one was taken into custody.
