Several horses rescued in Auburn barn fire

AUBURN, Wash. — Crews rescued several horses Saturday morning in an Auburn barn fire, said officials with King County Fire District 44.

The fire happened on Green Valley Road before 8 a.m.

Crews were able to put the fire out.

On Sunday afternoon, Tim Perciful of the King County Fire District said one of the horses had to be put down, and the other horses are doing fine.

According to fire officials, there were 22 horses in the barn, and firefighters were able to get them out. Some of the horses had to be given oxygen and one had to go to an emergency veterinarian.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
