Second arrest made in fatal stabbing of 82-year-old man

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — Marysville detectives have arrested a second person in the stabbing death of an 82-year-old sex offender.

The 26-year-old man was already in Snohomish County Jail on unrelated charges.

Detectives said he and another suspect told people about killing Arthur Schroeder while wearing bloody clothes and holding a bag of bloody knives.

Schroeder was found dead with multiple stab wounds last month in his trailer which had been ransacked.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested Sunday in connection with the slaying.

Police later found his burned-out truck near Arlington.
